Iran Applauds Yemen’s Role in Returning “Galaxy Leader” Crew
WANA (Jan 23) – The Assistant Minister and Director General for the Persian Gulf at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Ansarullah Yemen’s approval for the return of the crew of the ship “Galaxy Leader” to their home countries.
In this regard, Mohammad Ali Bek stated: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been pursuing the issue over the past few months through communication with relevant authorities in Yemen and also with our brothers in Hamas. We are now pleased that, with the sincere cooperation of Ansarullah Yemen, the crew of this ship will return to their respective countries.”
Yesterday, Al-Masirah network, citing a source, announced that under the orders of Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, the crew of the Israeli ship “Galaxy Leader” were released today in coordination with Hamas and with Omani mediation.
The source said: “The crew of the Galaxy Leader was released as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and handed over to Oman in coordination with the Hamas movement.” In this context, Yemen’s Supreme Political Council confirmed that the crew of the Galaxy Leadership was freed as part of Yemen’s support for Gaza and in backing the ceasefire agreement.
Following Ansarullah Yemen’s agreement to return the crew of the “Galaxy Leader” ship to their home countries, Mexico expressed its appreciation for Iran’s efforts.
The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed its gratitude for the mediation efforts of the Sultanate of Oman and the assistance provided by Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, and Mexico’s honorary consuls in Yemen and Oman.
